A brief history of our journey in recent years.  In 2002 two churches merged—Springfield/Camira Church of Christ and the Redbank Plains Church of Christ—to become known as the Bellbird Park Church of Christ. During this time the church met in a small building off Redbank Plains Road in Bellbird Park.

Late in 2004 the church sensed a need for a fresh vision from God and new directions for the future. Through a series of miraculous God moments a partnership was formed between our current Pastoral Team Leaders—Brett & Carolyn Swann and what was then known as the Bellbird Park Church of Christ.

At the same time God was opening the door for the church to move from Bellbird Park and into what is one of the fastest growing residential areas in South East Queensland—the Wider Springfield Region.

A partnership was struck between Churches of Christ Care, The Staines Memorial College and the Bellbird Park Church of Christ.

In October 2004 the church changed its name to Springfield Community Oasis and began planning their move into the Springfield area.

In January 2005 we moved into our new building which is shared with the Staines Memorial College and set out on an adventure of a life time—pursuing a fresh vision, defining a new culture and committing to the mission of ‘Moving beyond Believing to Beliving’.

We moved with 15 voting members and around 20 attendees. Miraculously by the end of February we had around 60 in weekly attendance with a possible 80.

We had 40 committed core members, new facilities and an awesome opportunity to impact a generation and a culture for Jesus Christ.

And so was born the Springfield Community Oasis!

We held our Official Public Launch on July 17th 2005 with 180 people in attendance. By the end of 2005 we had approximately 100 people in regular attendance across our two worship gatherings.

This web site was developed around the time of our public launch in July 2005. It is our hope that by exploring its pages you will get a deeper understanding of the kind of church we can see.

By the start of 2006 we had over 100 people from a variety of backgrounds and nationalities meeting regularly for corporate worship gatherings and weekly Life Groups as well as acts of service. 2006 was a challenging year as we struggled to cope with limited space in our weekend worship facility. We had big dreams but could find few options of how to achieve them without a greater resources.

By mid 2006 the hunt was on for a new premises. We had 100 people a small amount of cash and a big God. Within 6 months we were signing a contract on our new Oasis Resource Center located ont he corner of Commercial Drive and Woodcrest Way, Springfield. Immediately after purchasing our new resource center numerous new doors opened for us. We grew to around 200 people.

At the begining of 2008 we took steps towards expanding Springfield Community Oasis across the Greater Springfield region and beyond as we prepared to plant a number of Extension Hubs. It was our desire to become one church that meet in many locations. This helps us achieve our goal of grwoing larger whilst staying smaller. It enables us to remain missional in our local communities. It enables us to impact a generation with the love of Jesus in real and tangible ways.

In April Springfield Community Oasis amalgamated with Bundamba Church of Christ to begin the process of establishing our first Hub. We changed our name to Oasis Church to reflect this new multi-site model and the Oasis Church.

By the end of 2008 the rise of interest rates in Australia was beginning to put undue strain on our financial resources and was hindering our move into multi-site church.We were approached by a Victorian company to sell our Commercial Drive facility for th epurposes of creating a new super medical clinic. We took this as God's leading and in late Feb 2009 settled the contract n the sale of this property. We moved our Springfield Hub into the Woodcrest College Gym where we meet to this day. We moved our head offices to our new facility in Bundmaba. 

In August of 2009 we held our first service at our new Bundamba Hub - and thus our Bundamba Hub was born. It is located at 25 Byrne Street, Bundamba. This has allowed us to expand the ministry of Oasis Church into the heart of Ipswich City.

We are currently working to build a permanemt facility in Springfield on our site located on the corner of Springfiled Parkway and Panorama Drive, Springfield. We hope to be starting contruction around Easter 2011.
