Becoming part of the Oasis Church Faith Community

At Oasis Church, we believe that the Church was created to serve the community, not itself.  The purpose of the Church is not survival, but mission. It is not a place for Christians to retreat to fromt he world but rather for the world to and find refuge.

We have had a number of key issues emerge as we have engaged our community: the need of affordable food, increasing the pride in our school campuses through our RAK's, mentoring young people in lower primary who are at risk of destructive behaviours, social connections for those over 50 and much much more.

More recently we have discovered the need to provide support to those experiencing a debt crisis across the greater Springfield area and through to Bundamba as an extenion of our discount food outlet (so we have established a local CAP Debt Coaching Centre), we have connected to peopel struggling to make sense of a divorce (so we started DivorceCare to help people on their journey of healing during and following divorce).

Follow the links on the menu to explore these and other initiatives that the Oasis Church faith community are currently exploring.

You will notice that at Oasis Church we have intentionally de-programed the church in order to allow people time and energy to engage with their respective community context across the Greater Springfield Region through to the heart of Ipswich City. This is an intentional action to position Oasis Church as an outward focussed faith community not a self serving community. Care for fellow Oascians is offered through natural connections and firendships which are forged as we simply do life together.

We do not run many attractional programs/events but rather have decided to dedicate ourselves to initiatives that build community and forge relationships. We are committed to engaging family, friends and neighbours in our normal traffic patterns of life.
